How to Adjust Your Skincare Routine in the Winter

As the months get colder and drier, our skin does the same. With less moisture in the air, it’s important to adjust our skincare routine according to the changing seasons. Here are 5 adjustments you can make to keep your skin plump, dewy and looking healthy during this winter season.

Switch up Your Cleanser

When the weather starts to become brittle, it becomes crucial not to over-strip your skin of it’s natural barrier. By switching to a gentle, non-foaming cleanser, you’ll savor more of your natural oil production. Specifically, avoid sulfates. If you’re feeling especially dry, try skipping your morning cleanse.

Note: We love cream cleansers for dry and sensitive skin.

Add a Humidifier to Your Space

Humidifiers can be a lifesaver for your skin. Sleeping with a humidifier on at night can help to alleviate skin dryness. Want to turn your skin’s dewiness up a notch? Pair a humidifier with a hyaluronic acid serum. Hyaluronic acid binds to water and holds it into your skin, the moisture from the humidifier will amplify the serum’s effectiveness.

Get an IV With Extra Hydration

One of the most instantaneous ways to rehydrate dry skin is to get an IV. We recommend getting a full liter of hydration for best results. Adding in skin-health boosting nutrients and minerals (such as glutathione, vitamin C and zinc) will give your skin an extra beautiful glow.

Look for a Richer Moisturizer

Again, protect your skin barrier from the brittle dry and cold! Look for ingredients like ceramides, fatty acids, jojoba oil and argan oil. These ingredients help mimic the natural barrier of your skin and create a protective and nourishing layer. They also look beautiful when they reflect light and will give your skin a stunning, hydrated appearance.

Wear SPF

Yes, summer is over, but the UV rays never take a break. It is crucial to wear spf every day, even when it’s cloudy! I know, that can be a tough pill to swallow but your future-self will thank you for it.
